Valentine’s Day – Wearing Rompers

Living somewhere warm definitely has it perks; like being able to wear summer dresses in February. Last year for Valentine’s Day I went to Disney World, so I got to wear a dress. However normally I would be bundled up with sweater tights, a cardigan and probably ugly (but warm) boots to deal with the Canadian winter. One piece of clothing you can’t quite wear in winter are rompers. (I’ve always felt weird wearing them with tights.)

Rompers

I’ve been trying to take full advantage of the warm weather in San Diego and expanded my romper wardrobe. I’ve always thought of them as comfier than a dress (and better on windy days). However now you can find many rompers and jumpsuits that make you feel just as fancy as if you were wearing a dress. I found this romper at Forever21.

It was originally supposed to be strapless, but thankfully straps were included. (My small bust is not a fan of keeping up anything strapless.)  I love this shade of dusty pink. I do wish that I got more of a tan while I was in Mexico to help stand out from it more.

I love the maxi length fringe. It gives you some of the perks of a floor length outfit without the commitment. I found myself not tripping over the fringe going up stairs. Because it is floor length I found it to be more formal than a normal romper. The gold glitter tinge in the fringe (that rhymes) also adds in making it more dressy.

It is also a lot fun to walk and twirl in. I was twirling quite unnecessarily… I know I was that girl in the resort that people thought took advantage of the all-inclusive booze.

How I Styled it

I kept it simple and wore a clutch I got free with purchase from Rebecca Minkoff. I was pleasantly surprised when I received it. Not only is the texture soft and high quality, but it is also holographic! I’ve been debating buying another purse in this finish. The pictures really don’t do it justice. I wore simple pink laser cut sandals I got from DSW.

Forever 21 has many beautiful rompers with maxi-length overlays. It is the simplest way to feel dressier while still being comfortable. Whether it be for Valentine’s Day or any fancy night out, rompers are about as good as dresses with pockets. If it has pockets than its a double win.
