Cinco de Mayo

To celebrate Cinco de Mayo this year, I went to Old Town to see the 34th Annual Fiesta. Until Sunday there will be tons of live music and (most importantly) food. It was a great place to spend the afternoon (or get a margarita).

What I Wore

I picked up this Rip Curl dress at Winners when I was back home in Toronto last month. The combination of linen and woven cotton detail just screamed Mexico for me. The print reminded me of a blanket I picked up in Playa del Carmen last year.

I also finally got to wear my new Cult Gaia bag. I ordered it last week on pre-order (shipped out end of may), and to my surprise it came in under a week! I love the shape and construction of the bag. It is surprisingly more useable than I thought it would be. I ordered size small, and it makes the perfect statement piece.

Old Town

Parking was slightly hard to find. I would suggest ubering there this weekend. (You can drink more margaritas that way!) There is tons of things to see and do. There are different events everyday, so be sure to check out their site.

One of my favourite shops in Old Town is this open air pottery and metalwork shop. I wish I had a garden here in San Diego to decorate. In the meantime, I’ll just have lawn ornaments in my apartment.

As I was leaving, I heard donkey noises. I didn’t even realize that there were donkeys in Old Town. They are part of the Seely Stable museum. His name is Don Quixote and he was eating carrots.

Back in East Village, I spotted the cutest vintage VW Beetle.
