The Saguaro Palm Spring – Everyday Coachella

It’s that time of the year again when instagram fills up with people in flower crowns and crocheted tops (check out my etsy!) Unfortunately I didn’t get tickets to Coachella this year despite my 2.5 hour distance from San Diego. (I definitely need to plan it properly to go in 2018) Feeling in the Coachella spirit, I thought I’d share my experience spending the day at the Saguaro Palm Springs.

The Hotel

If you couldn’t make it out to Coachella, i’d definitely say to make a stop here on your next Cali trip. You don’t even need to stay at the hotel in order to take full advantage of its photo ops. I went to Palm springs on a day trip from San Diego, and was able to stay on the grounds for free. During the week, the hotel offers free admittance to the pools. On weekends, you can purchase a pool pass for about $20.

The decor all throughout the resort is colourful and very photogenic. My favourite feature in the lobby was the Barbie dioramas.

The Grounds

The grounds are so colorful. It’s no wonder their slogan is “live colorfully”. It just goes to show you how you can turn a relatively old motel into a great vacation spot with a bit of theming and a renovation. You can sit by a large heated pool stocked with pool floaties or the two cold water hot tubs.

There are seating areas, picnic tables and games throughout the grounds as well. There are planed events, depending on the time you go. Yoga is an everyday must as well.

What I wore

In a pre-Coachella spirit, I figured I couldn’t go wrong with denim button up skirt and mesh crop top.

Food

There is a pool bar that offers good poolside snacks. They were very kind in making me a chicken burger specially to deal with my gastritis. It was standard snack food, the usual nachos and burgers. It was fairly priced so you wont have to go across the street to get a sub at Subway.

While I did not stay at the hotel, and cannot comment on the quality of the rooms. The service seemed very friendly and it is just one of the most instagrammable places I’ve been since moving to San Diego. (How am I using instagrammable as a word?) Even if you don’t want to go there just for pictures, the atmosphere was perfect for a day by the pool.
