This past weekend I finally made it out to the Old Point Loma lighthouse in the Cabrillo National Monument. It was a beautiful warm day, and the breezes and view made for a perfect afternoon.
What I Wore
Knowing I’d be spending the afternoon in Point Loma by the bay, I wanted to wear something light and nautical. I wore a striped cotton skirt from Zara. While it was comfortable in the heat, the wind had other ideas for it. I spent a good portion of the afternoon making sure I didn’t flash anyone. Sticking with the embroidery trend, I wore a crop top I got at H&M.
I wore my trusted Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C. Between me and my sister, we probably own over 10 of them in every colour. They seem to magically hold everything you need. Even with the amount of medicine I carry for my stomach issues, and my huge phone cases, everything manages to fit! Sticking with the nautical theme, I worse a real starfish bracelet my boyfriend got me in Turks & Caicos.
Cabrillo National Monument
The lighthouse was nice to see. Inside were furnished historic rooms. Unfortunately you couldn’t walk up to the top of the lighthouse, but still something to see non the less. Beside the house was a another building featuring the original light and a more in-depth look at the lighthouse’s past.
The view of the ocean was incredible, although very windy. (I chose the wrong day to wear my hair out)
Parking and entrance was $10/car. The great part is that it is good for 10 days. (If you happen to want to go back) Near the main parking lot there is an information center. From there, you get great views of the bay.
