Kenzo x H&M – Sleeveless Dress

This past Thursday, H&M released their Kenzo collaboration.  Living here in Downtown San Diego (without a car), I didn’t think I’d actually manage to pick up anything. Surprisingly there is no H&M downtown (why is that?). I made it up to Fashion Valley on Friday expecting a few scattered remaining pieces, however to my surprise it was untouched. I had my pick of styles and sizes. Yay San Diego. kenzo-7373One of the pieces I picked up was the sleeveless wool-blend dress. As far as the dresses went, I found the majority of the Kenzo collab to be a bit unwearable (at least for me being a student going to class). I liked the pastel colour scheme and the wearable cut of this sweater dress. kenzo-7396

Details

I loved the crochet trim on this dress. Even though I crochet (and could easily add a trim to any dress I buy), I would never end up actually doing it. My sister always complains that I never crochet her anything. I like the juxtaposition of machine made knit with the more handmade trim.

I like the turtle neck top. It is a nice detail that makes this dress great for San Diego “Winter”.

How I Styled

I paired this dress with short black booties from Forever21. Because this is a sweater dress, it felt odd wearing shoes or sandals. I decided to keep with the black and wore my Prada tote. I just recently purchased a rose gold milanese loop band for my Apple Watch on amazon, and glad how well it works with everything.

Fit & Price

This dress runs on the larger side. I purchased an XS and it is still quite loose. Given for the stretchiness of the material, it could have definitely been smaller. This dress is well priced in comparison to the rest of the Kenzo collection. It is a very heavy, well-made dress making it well worth the 99$, especially when a simple t-shirt is 35$.
