Vote Vino – Canadian During the US Election

As a Canadian living in the US for the next two years, the upcoming election does affect me. (Especially with San Diego’s proximity to the border, I hope no wall will be built…) Since I am not able to vote, I thought I might as well dress for the occasion. While America votes, i’ll be at home voting for wine.  Continue reading

    Kenzo x H&M – Sleeveless Dress

This past Thursday, H&M released their Kenzo collaboration.  Living here in Downtown San Diego (without a car), I didn’t think I’d actually manage to pick up anything. Surprisingly there is no H&M downtown (why is that?). I made it up to Fashion Valley on Friday expecting a few scattered remaining pieces, however to my surprise it was untouched. I had my pick of styles and sizes. Yay San Diego.  Continue reading

    Halloween – Don’t be a Basic Witch

This year Halloween is possibly on the worst day of the week; Monday. For those of you love Halloween, it is kind of a bummer. I personally always like to dress up, no matter what my plans are that day. In my second year of undergrad, I went to studio class in a full dirndl and pigtails.  Lo and behold I was the only person dressed up for Halloween. I may not mind the odd looks (from party poopers), but not everyone likes to call that much attention. Thankfully there are ways to be spirited without having to go over the top (which I usually do). California Coral: Triangl Chloe Review

Anyone who knows me knows that I have a slight huge obsession with bathing suits. While my collection keeps growing in size and brands, I tend to find my way back to Triangl. The Australian brand has been coming out with so many new beautiful designs, it’s almost hard to remember their original style. I currently have 4 Triangl suits (and hopefully growing), but I still always pack my classic Chloe suit.  Continue reading

Sherman Heights Day of the Dead Festival

One thing I’ve always wanted to do was go to an authentic Day of the Dead festival. Since I found out I was moving to San Diego (with it’s vicinity to Mexico), I knew I could finally attend one without having to go south of the border. After a bit of research I came across the Sherman Height’s 22nd Annual Muertos Festival.  Continue reading

Old Town San Diego + Mexican Boho Style

Old Town San Diego is considered to be the “birthplace” of California. This is because it was the first permanent Spanish settlement in California.  What was once considered the centre of San Diego has been turned into a Historic State Park. This was done in 1968, in order to preserve the history that characterized San Diego from 1821 to 1872.

Day 1: Flight and First Impression

It finally came. The day I left on the biggest adventure of my life so far. After days of packing, I realized just how hard it is to pack your entire life in a couple of suitcases (especially with weight limits). While it might have seemed obnoxious to wear heavy leather shoeties, it was the only way to bring these shoes to San Diego with Air Canada’s baggage policy. img_5765 Continue reading
