This year Halloween is possibly on the worst day of the week; Monday. For those of you love Halloween, it is kind of a bummer. I personally always like to dress up, no matter what my plans are that day. In my second year of undergrad, I went to studio class in a full dirndl and pigtails. Lo and behold I was the only person dressed up for Halloween. I may not mind the odd looks (from party poopers), but not everyone likes to call that much attention. Thankfully there are ways to be spirited without having to go over the top (which I usually do).
Halloween Graphic Tees
One of the easiest Halloween costume for someone who doesn’t want to dress up is a graphic tee. They don’t scream costume, while still feeling spirited. I picked up this “Don’t be a Basic Witch” cropped tank at Target.
There are many cute costume tanks, such as this caped Wonder Woman tee from Target. However I like the snarky slogans full of puns, such as this Haunt it tank from Target, and this Cat tee from Asos.
Halloween Choker
Since nearly anyone can be seen wearing a chocker on a daily basis, it only makes sense to find a themed choker. I picked up this blood dripping choker at Walmart for only $3. You can find a similar one at Target. I’ve also recently purchased a Sally, Nightmare Before Christmas stitches choker. However, it is not available online.
Shoes
To top of any look you need a pair of good shoes. Since it is autumn (a heatwave in San Diego weather saying otherwise), I decided to put on my favourite Vince Camuto shooties. I figured the warm shade matched all the pumpkins.
And there you have it, a simple and affordable “costume” that makes you look like you aren’t too cool to be spirited. No one wants to be a basic witch.
